A Walk in the Park

Sunday afternoons we are always looking for fun family outings. Sometimes we visit grandparents, sometimes we watch a movie or play games together, and sometimes we go for nature walks. We love nature walks. Tonight we went to the park at the Huntington Beach Central Library, and since we knew it would be getting dark soon, we brought our flashlights.

When we got down near the pond area, Nate quickly recognized the sound of a bullfrog. He had never seen one in the wild before, and he and the boys were quick to follow the sound to get a view. Unfortunately, we did not see it, but we did see the splash it made as it hopped away from us into the safety of the pond. We had fun trying.

Calista had fun playing with her flashlight.

The boys would have liked to stay longer, but Nate had a mosquito attack him and Calista noticed it was starting to get dark. She does not like the dark. So we started our walk back up the hill to our car to head home.
